Two Cambridge School of Bucharest students receive offers from the University of Cambridge

Bucharest, Romania — Cambridge School of Bucharest (CSB) has announced that two of its students have received offers to study at the University of Cambridge for the coming academic year, reinforcing the school’s strong track record of academic excellence and placement at top global universities.

One of the University of Cambridge offers has been secured by Ilinca, Head Girl of the Class of 2026, who will study Engineering. Ilinca has demonstrated consistent academic ambition, leadership, and intellectual curiosity throughout her time as an A-Level student at CSB. Beyond her classroom studies, she independently explored advanced engineering topics, including research into hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, which informed her practical work within the school’s STEM Club. She has also achieved Bronze and Silver awards in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and earned an A* in Additional Mathematics at IGCSE, which she studied independently.

The second offer has been secured by Maia, who will study Medicine at the University of Cambridge, one of the world’s most competitive degree programmes. A member of CSB’s first International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) cohort, Maia has excelled academically while making a significant contribution to the school’s Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) programme. Her initiatives include organising a Science Fair at a rural school in Călărași and helping to establish CSB’s annual Science Fairs, promoting STEM engagement among younger students.

The offers, among the most competitive in international higher education, reflect both the exceptional achievements of the students and the strength of CSB’s academic pathways. Since 2016, four CSB graduates have attended the University of Cambridge, alongside one graduate who progressed to the University of Oxford. A further CSB alumna and former Head Girl is currently studying at Stanford University in the United States.

The current academic year has already delivered a strong set of university outcomes. CSB students have so far secured multiple offers from institutions including University College London (UCL), the University of St Andrews, the University of Durham, the University of Bath, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Toronto, and Bocconi University, with additional offers from United States and European universities expected later in the spring.

Cambridge School of Bucharest offers both A Level and International Baccalaureate pathways in its Sixth Form. The school attributes its university success to high-quality teaching, personalised university and career guidance, a broad range of extracurricular opportunities, and a supportive learning environment.

With graduates progressing to leading institutions such as Cambridge, Oxford, Stanford, and other top universities worldwide, Cambridge School of Bucharest continues to strengthen its position within Romania’s international education landscape.

Success is our tradition.
